Tobacco Free Living is an important part of the fight against disease, cancer and premature death. Cigarette smoking attributes to more than 480,000 deaths within the United States annually. Furthermore, 41,000 deaths are from the result of secondhand smoke exposure. In addition, the quality of life for people that utilize tobacco decreases. Individuals that smoke, die on average, 10 years sooner than those that do not. Finally, tobacco use is the #1 preventable cause of death in the United States.

Our Mission
Our mission is to work collaboratively to accomplish the following goals within our 14 county region:
- Decrease initiation of tobacco use among youth and young adults
- Eliminate exposure to secondhand smoke and aerosol emissions from e-cigarettes
- Decrease tobacco use among adults and youth
- Identify and eliminate tobacco-related disparities and improve health equity

Secondhand Smoke
Secondhand smoke is the smoke that has been exhaled from someone smoking. It is also the smoke that comes from the burning of tobacco products including cigarettes, cigars and pipes. Secondhand smoke is harmful to anyone that is exposed to it. Did you know that tobacco smoke has more than 7,000 chemicals in it?
